Bombardier Transportation is the UK's only train designer, manufacturer and maintainer. Bombardier employs more than 4,000 people at production facilities in Derby and Plymouth and 24 maintenance, refurbishment and overhaul centres across the UK. The company maintains approximately 2,500 vehicles.

About the visit

Take this opportunity to see the 2009 IET Innovation Award Winner of the Asset Management category. Bombardier ORBITA won this category in 2009. Their winning entry was 'The future of intelligent railway maintenance and operation - an innovative application of techniques to improve the asset management of railway rolling stock.' Delegates should report to the security gatehouse upon arrival, they will then be directed to the visitors' car park and from there enter the main reception to register.

Cameras are not permitted.

Footwear should be sturdy, no trainers or open toe shoes/sandals.
