January 2012
Happy New Year from all of us here at the IAM!
We have a busy year planned that includes more website improvements, more publications, the first SSG projects (see the Anatomy if you wonder what these are…), launches of our qualifications and a better-than-ever Conference – and much, much more! We hope very much you will be able to participate and gain from some of these activities.
If you know of any reputable organisations that might wish to be associated with one or more of these activities and wish to sponsor them to help us accelerate timescales, please put them in touch with me.
You may like to try reading Assets magazine on our website using the new page-turning widget. Recent versions are still protected for Members-Only but we are introducing a more user-friendly archive and this reader will be available for them all soon. Don’t forget to switch off the paper version if you don’t want it posted to you, thank you!

Asset Management – an anatomy
I am so sorry about the incorrect link in the December Newsletter to Asset Management an anatomy. The correct link is below (and easy to memorise) - do pass it on if you feel it might interest someone. It has already been downloaded hundreds of times as well as read online. As always, your reactions and comments would be welcome! If you haven't done so, please tell us if you would be interested in a printed copy - without commitment. We expect to sell it for around 10 pounds (plus postage) You can indicate the quantity at the bottom of the AMA page: www.theIAM.org/AMA
Annual Conference 2012
Obviously there is some anticipation for Warwick 2012 because we have already received many requests for information / early bookings. We hope to release the outline programme and take ‘Early Bird bookings by mid-February.
Meanwhile, it would help us a lot if you could visit this page and register your interest now. The format is likely to be the same as last year with additional streams and options – and the presence of Global Forum representatives is bound to raise interest so we expect to sell all the places fast…
Warwick 2011 – Downloads open to all Members.
If you were unable to attend Warwick 2011 – or you are unsure of just what to expect you can now access all of the material from the previous conference here. This content is now open to all paying members and not just delegates.
MaintWorld
The latest edition of MaintWorld (no.4) is available from the office...

If you are interested in having a copy please [contact the office here]. We also have all issues from 2011, if you need a copy of a previous issue please add this to your request and will send them out to you, free of charge.
Update your details
We would be VERY grateful if you could log in and check your personal details under ‘Your Profile’ – do it now while you think of it!
Please give us your home details so that we can find you if you change your employer – you can tell us which address and emails to use for various purposes. I emphasise that we NEVER sell or give your details to any other organisation so you will not receive more junk mail and spam!
We are receiving more and more Assets magazines returned as ‘undeliverable / address incomplete’ – and this is just a waste of money – your subscriptions…
Of course if you prefer not to receive a hard copy of the magazine and view this on our website, please change this in your preferences.
We appreciate your help. Thank you.

and finally...
I am just preparing to go to the next ISO PC251 meeting and I am very grateful to the UK Mirror Committee – and especially our delegates – for so much uncomplaining hard work, even during the Christmas and New Year holiday. I am personally aware that many other country delegations have been preparing just as diligently – it should be a productive meeting.
I look forward to meeting some of you in South Africa - and I hope to see many of you this year one way or another…
I offer you my best wishes for 2012!
