If you are using or considering the use of aerial drones in your asset management prior this webinar, Dr. Chris Johnson will discuss current business trends and commercial applications of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS aka drones). He will provide a brief evolution of drone technology and provide several examples of commercial applications. He will discuss market segments and some of the remote sensing and artificial intelligence capabilities that support the commercial drone industry as well as the current regulatory landscape and his involvement as a member of the FAA's UAS Safety Team. Lastly, he will cover some of the opportunities, challenges and considerations for building an industrial drone program.

This webinar is hosted by the IAM USA & IAM Canada chapters but is available to all members and non-members.

Dr. Chris Johnson is an Air Force Veteran, commercial pilot (manned and unmanned), certified flight instructor and Director of the University of Wisconsin Flight Laboratory, an FAA Center of Excellence for aviation research. He has built drone programs for UW-Madison, UW-Oshkosh, Wisconsin Aviation, American Family Insurance, a Global-100 tech company and many other small and mid-sized businesses. 

Chris is the Founding President of the UAS Advocacy Network (UASAN.org), a public-private consortium of drone experts and enthusiasts whose goal is to promote the safe and ethical integration of drone technology.

He is also the FAA Safety Team Lead Representative and member of the FAA's Unmanned Aircraft Safety Team currently leading safety enhancements for rogue drone sightings, accidents and incidents.

 

 

This webinar is hosted by the IAM USA & IAM Canada chapters but is available to all members and non-members.  It will be held at 10.00 PST | 13.00 EST | 18.00 GMT. This fifty-minute webinar will be moderated by Thomas Smith, FIAM, Director of the IAM-USA Chapter.  It will include some time for discussion as well as a link for follow-up questions.
