Criteria for applying for Member

You meet one of the following criteria:

• An IAM Certificate and 24 months' work experience as a Practitioner or higher in three of the seven Key Roles
• An IAM Diploma and 12 months' work experience as a Practitioner or higher in three of the seven Key Roles
• Postgraduate degree in Asset Management recognized by the IAM and 12 months' work experience as a Practitioner or higher in three of the seven Key Roles
• First degree in a relevant subject and 36 months' work experience as a Practitioner in at least three of the seven Key Roles
• Chartered Member of another relevant professional body and 12 months' experience as a Leading Practitioner, or 36 months' work experience as a Practitioner in three of the seven Key Roles
• Seven years' work experience as a Practitioner or higher in three of the seven Key Roles, and currently a Leading Practitioner in two of the seven Key Roles

PLUS, all Member applications must be supported by a Proposer.

Fellows are leaders in the asset management community, making a positive contribution to the promotion and development of the discipline. They demonstrate experience in developing new entrants to the field, leadership and vision, promotion of the benefits of asset management and furthering the objectives of the IAM.

Criteria for applying for Fellow

You meet all the following criteria:

• 10 years' senior responsibility (Leading Practitioner or higher) in three of the seven Key Roles
• Current superior responsibility as a Principal in two of the seven Key Roles
• Significant knowledge across the remaining five Key Roles where not currently working as a Principal

PLUS participation in an interview, and you may be asked to provide a portfolio of supporting evidence.

PLUS, all Fellow applications must be supported by TWO Proposers.
