2013 President's Awards Presented to Three Individuals

This year there were three recipients of the President’s Award. Each individual has shown a different but equally outstanding contribution to the IAM. The awards were presented by Stephen Morris, IAM President during the IAM Awards 2013 presentations at the IAM's Annual Dinner held at the Museum of London. 

Chris Lloyd

- For exceptional service in establishing the IAM Competences Framework and Qualifications.

The citation reads:
"In addition to a range of contributions to IAM events and activities, Chris has helped establish our vision for asset management competences and professional development.  He brought impressive leadership and expertise, firstly, to the establishment of the successful Competences Framework and, recently, the new Certificate and Diploma examinations, which have now become standard IAM products.The Council and Board of the IAM and the Examinations Board are very grateful to Chris for his sustained contribution and commitment to professionalising the discipline."

Dr Navil Shetty

- For exceptional service as a Member of the Council and Faculty

The citation reads:
"In addition to diligent attention to the normal duties of Council and Faculty Members,Navil has always volunteered for the sometimes urgent and specialist technical work of the Institute, often bringing to our attention external matters requiring our input. In particular, he has collaborated with a number of external and similar bodies in our name and has contributed to both strategic and detailed work with good humour and devotion.  Since 2010 this has been in addition to his contribution as Working Group 1 Leader to the ISO55000 project. The Council and Board of the IAM are very grateful to Navil for his significant contribution to the IAM’s work and development of the discipline over many years."

 

Stephen Tomlinson

- For exceptional service as a Chairman of the Membership Committee

The citation reads:
"In addition to dedicated and expert review of member applications, Steve developed future membership requirements.  In particular, he took the lead role in influencing membership standards, application processes and the evidential basis for proper scrutiny of evidence, often carrying the main workload single-handedly.  The requirements for membership are now appropriately demanding and a solid foundation is in place.The Council and Board of the IAM are very grateful to Steve for his significant contribution to the development of the Membership structure and committed leadership of the admittance and transfer workload for many years."
