The professional body for whole life management of physical assets

IAM: The Institute of Asset Management
April 2011

For once, the good weather here in UK seems well-timed for our Easter Holiday and Royal Wedding!  I hope you enjoy a relaxing break if you have time off.

We are excited about our annual Members Conference in June and we're looking forward to meeting you there.  Do book if you haven't already done so - it is excellent value and we expect a strong attendance.

Unfortunately, many of you were omitted from our mailings last year owing to IT issues.  If this is only the second of our electronic Monthly Newsletters that you have received, it may also be because various spam filter settings and other IT arrangements have stopped yours!   See below to control what we send you.

--------------------------------------------------

Please forward this Newsletter to anyone who might like to be added to the distribution list. All they need to do is add themselves as Affiliates (Free of charge).

Unsubscribe?  Please login and adjust your mailing preferences.  If you're not registered with us, follow link at the footer.

Control what we send you!

We always try not to send you too many emails. However, we are gradually increasing the range of material we agree to send you in order to support partner activities and make opportunities available to those of you that are interested.

You can edit your own preferences to tell us which types of email you wish to receive. These preferences will eventually include your preferred language and other personal requirements. Usually the default is to include you so, if you want all our communications you don't need to do anything.

Newsletters are sent in the middle of each month - but if you do not wish to receive them, you can stop them.  The emails are shown in each category and you can choose which email address they go to separately (if you have told us your home and work emails) or switch each category off entirely by selecting blank.  If you are happy to read Assets magazine online and do not require the paper copy, you can save us money by switching that off too!

PLEASE LOG IN FIRST then click here to edit your preferences on the website (and please  update your details too, thank you.)

Members Conference 20-22 June 2011

An outline programme for our 2-day Members Conference on 20/21 June is now available on our website.  We are delighted at the high quality of speakers and the good mix of technical content with business and financial, for example, our keynote speaker is Chief Executive of Capita Symonds.

This is followed by a Competence & Qualifications Workshop on 22nd. The Workshop will focus on Asset Management Leadership and structuring roles and responsibilities in organisations.  Also included - emerging Qualifications and how to get involved - and progress with the International Accord.  Why not book this as well?

No doubt the drinks reception and dinner on 20th - all included! - will be as popular as ever and, for the first time,  we are hoping to have an exclusive speaker from a high profile world-beating project...

You won't meet a more interesting or influential group of senior asset managers in a relaxed social setting anywhere else!  The same high quality accommodation is available and, once again, we already have bookings from Canada, China, Africa, Australia and USA.

DON'T MISS IT!

and finally...

Our new website seems to be popular but we are painfully aware that anyone still using Internet Explorer 6 is having difficulties accessing it.

Microsoft withdraws support from IE6 later this year, so please encourage your corporate IT people to upgrade (because this affects many modern websites).  We do apologise, however, and we have recently authorised some further work to redesign part of our website.

As far as we know, none of the other browsers are affected so please use Safari / Firefox / Chrome etc - or later versions of IE if you can.

Thank you.
