Webinar Overview:
As extreme weather conditions become more common and water main failures more frequent, Anglian Water faces an urgent question – how will climate change impact their supply infrastructure? More importantly, how can the company adapt to this uncertainty and ensure they are making the highest value investment decisions for their 7 million customers? This webinar will explore how Anglian Water and Maplesky have used weather data to create forward-looking climate models, and how these models have been embedded in the Copperleaf solution to identify the areas where the water company must intervene now – within business constraints like funding and resource availability – to secure long term resilience of the water network.

Liz Cornelius
Liz has 25 years’ experience in the water industry working for Anglian Water Services and United Utilities in areas of Water Quality and Asset Management. Currently an asset investment planning professional at Anglian Water with a focus on long term planning, and assessing the impact of deterioration and climate change on the company’s water infrastructure assets. Liz is a key user of the Copperleaf solution at Anglian Water, leveraging the system to optimise and compile its business plan for the regulator.
Dr. Tim Farewell
Dr Tim Farewell helps water companies across the UK to quantify the impact of weather and soils on their networks, so they can target interventions to reduce bursts, leaks and interruptions to supply for their customers. Tim’s climate change models are helping companies to quantify the changing risks to their networks, guide billions of pounds of investment towards the most vulnerable assets, and ensure a resilient water supply for the next generation.
John Harvey
As the ESG Practice Lead at Copperleaf, John is an expert in all things ESG and brings over a decade of experience as a consultant in the utility sector. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Alberta, as well as an MSc in Project Management of Environmental and Energy Engineering, and an MSc in Sustainable Energy Engineering.
