Join us as we hear from Derrick Dunkley, the Head of Asset Strategy at National Grid, on his career in asset management. Derrick Dunkley FIAM FRSA

National Grid

Fellow of the Institute of Asset Management and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Derrick is a senior asset management professional with extensive experience in electricity transmission, strategic asset planning and decision‑support. He has contributed to major national and international work including IEC white papers, CIGRE working groups and IAM guidance documents.

Derrick has held a number of technical and leadership roles within National Grid, specialising in asset performance, innovation and the development of complex engineering decision‑support systems. His work has been recognised through multiple awards, including the IAM President’s Award and international innovation honours.

He brings a distinctive blend of technical insight, thought leadership and community impact, and is a respected voice across the UK energy and infrastructure sectors.
