Project Details

• Designed to meet the evolving demands of modern public transport, this landmark development combines engineering excellence with bold innovation. Unprecedented for a project of this scale, it was delivered on schedule, with bus services launching on 8 September 2024 and rail services following on 13 October 2024.
• Through robust project management, engineering excellence proactive risk mitigation, and close stakeholder collaboration, Translink successfully delivered a state-of-the-art transport hub that enhances connectivity, drives economic growth, and integrates cutting-edge sustainable solutions—proving that world-class infrastructure can be both resilient and community-focused.
• Beyond its engineering achievements, the station has made a lasting social impact, creating 239 jobs for underrepresented groups, supporting apprenticeships, and contributing £500,000 in community donations, strengthening both the local workforce and community.
• This station enables connection on a grand scale. It sets out to inspire and reimagine the city, not just at the station but in the streets around it also - one where more people travel on public transport and walk, wheel and cycle for a better-connected society today and for generations to come.
