Topic:

Resiliency planning for electrical systems. Following on from December’s call looking at resilience in the water sector, this meeting will again look at the concept of resilience from end-to-end and look at the resilience challenges for electric utilities while also looking at interdependence of critical utilities. At the end of the presentation by Mark Knight, Director of Projects for IAM USA, the meeting attendees will discuss a few questions from a future survey on resilience planned by the IAM.

Mark Knight

MIAM

Mark is a Principal Consultant at 1898 & Co., part of Burns & McDonnell. He is a senior industry adviser and utility consultant, experienced in many areas. He is the Emeritus Chair and the emeritus administrator of the GridWise Architecture Council (GWAC), a group formed by the U.S. Department of Energy to promote and enable interoperability among the many entities that interact with the nation's electric power system. Mark is also the chair of SEPA’s Transactive Energy working group, a member of SEPA’s Advisory Council, and is a member of the Institute of Asset Management’s (IAM) US Executive Committee where he is Director of Projects. He is also a member of the IAM’s Knowledge Leadership Group and chair of the IAM US Technical Committee.
