Through his career Stan Coleman has been helping asset-intensive organizations use modelling to improve their investment decisions. Stan will discuss the need for modelling to make good investment decisions. He will discuss the types of models that he has seen implemented, including Asset Life Cycle models, large population failure models and network models. He will discuss the effectiveness and the appropriateness of such models in different situations.

Stan Coleman is the Chief Technology Officer at Copperleaf. In that role, he leads Copperleaf’s long-term technology vision and he works closely with clients and the Copperleaf development team to create better methodologies for valuing investments and improve decision-making. Prior to joining Copperleaf in 2009, Stan worked at Creo (and subsequently Kodak) where he was responsible for software development. In his early career, he spent ten years with MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates, where he worked on meteorological systems, aeronautical information processing systems and defense systems. Stan holds an honours bachelor's degree in applied science with a major in engineering physics from the University of British Columbia.
