Operations Track: Mastering the Life Cycle - In Partnership with the Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) 

With a focus on asset maintenance and reliability and a preference for abstracts from SMRP affiliated professionals, this track focuses on life cycle activity planning, life cycle costs, and value realization. This track will explore experiences with the optimization of risk-based decision-making, involving balancing competing interests such as asset utilization/performance versus asset maintenance, capital investment cost versus operational expenditures, or short-term benefits versus long-term sustainability.  

Organizational Track: Culture as a Catalyst   

The Culture as a Catalyst track explores the human side of asset management – where technical systems meet organizational behavior. It focuses on leading change in complex environments, aligning diverse stakeholders, and understanding the psychology that shapes decisions about assets over their life cycle. Sessions will examine how culture, risk perception, incentives, and cognitive bias influence asset performance, investment choices, and long-term resilience. This track offers practical insights and real-world case studies to help participants navigate transformation, build trust, and deliver sustainable outcomes through effective people-centered management.  

Innovation Track: The Digital Edge 

The Innovation Track explores how emerging technologies and creative strategies drive the synergy of people, data, and assets. It focuses on leveraging digital tools, automation, and advanced analytics to transform traditional asset management into a dynamic, interconnected ecosystem. Sessions will highlight breakthroughs in smart infrastructure, IoT integration, and AI-driven insights that enable predictive maintenance and optimized performance. Attendees will learn how innovation fosters resilience, sustainability, and adaptability in a rapidly evolving landscape. This track will empower leaders to embrace forward-thinking solutions that bridge physical and digital realms, unlocking new value and shaping the future of operational excellence.

Workshops 

As part of this year's IAM North American Conference, we are excited to offer a full-day training course or workshop focused on providing practical knowledge and guidance in asset management. We invite individuals and companies interested in facilitating a workshop to submit their proposals for consideration. Our goal is to provide our members with valuable educational experiences that support their asset management journeys.

IAM North America Awards 2026

The IAM North American Awards 2026 acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding work done by asset management professionals, organizations and teams across North America. Commitment, quality and foresight are vital to the success of asset management – along with innovation, adaptation and social awareness. 

These awards are an opportunity for you to showcase the excellent work you’re doing, wherever you are in and whichever industry sector you operate in. By submitting your leading examples of good asset management practice, it’s a chance for you to celebrate your successes and share them with a wider network across the professional landscape. 

We can’t wait to see your submissions, and to be able to share and celebrate the work you’ve been doing! 

The Award categories are the following: 

Corporate / Organization Transformation Award 

This award honor the Corporate / organizational Journey and the excellence displayed by organizations to progress their asset management competence. Any organizational effort towards the Corporate Journey, regardless of the asset management maturity, is considered in this award.  

Examples of good entries: Organisations that have just embarked on their Corporate Journey and have restructured and instilled asset management principles and good practices; organizations who have defined and road-mapped asset management competency beyond ISO 55000 guidelines; organisations who have made significant efforts to restructure their communications to reduce silo mindsets and systematically build an information feedback loop across departments. 

This award will acknowledge but not honor partners, e.g. consultants, who have contributed to an organization’s asset management Journey 

Open to organizations who own and manage assets in the context of an asset management system; NOT open to consultants 

The Winner from this category will automatically be entered into the IAM Excellence Awards 2027 
  

Digital Innovation Award 

This award honours innovative advancements in asset management in the face of the current challenges. The individual or organisation should have applied good asset management principles in adapting to new technologies, advancements in digital capabilities and meeting competitive, digital business and/or consumer trends that have taken place in the previous year. It is for those who are on the cutting edge of asset management innovation and are pioneers or early adapters to new methods, theories, and tools.  

The Winner from this category will automatically be entered into the IAM Excellence Awards 2027 

NxtGen Award 

This award is for an individual newer to asset management (less than 5 years in an asset management focussed role) who has made an outstanding contribution to the implementation and development of asset management in any part of their organization, and who demonstrates great potential for further asset management excellence.  

Open to organizations who own and manage assets in the context of an asset management system AND consultants 

The Winner from this category will automatically be entered into the IAM Excellence Awards 2027

Conference ticket prices are listed below. It is cheaper to join the IAM as a member and attend the conference than to buy a non-member ticket. Join the IAM here.

Substantial discounts are available for speakers, government and public sector attendees, and students.

What is Included in my Conference Ticket?  

Day one (5 October) of the conference will begin with conference registration, followed by the opening drinks reception at 17:00. This informal gathering will allow delegates to network and connect with fellow attendees before the main sessions begin.  

On days two (6 October) and day three (7 October), delegates will hear from keynote speakers and choose from three parallel tracks: 

• Operations Track: Mastering the Life cycle - In partnership with SMRP 

• Organizational Track: Culture as Catalyst 

• Innovation Track: The Digital Edge 

Our speakers will share insights from a wide range of professional backgrounds, providing valuable knowledge and practical strategies. A full-day program will be available to delegates on both days. 

To celebrate the North American Awards, a drinks reception will be held on the evening of 6 October, providing an opportunity for networking and recognition of outstanding achievements.
