Craig Omundsen, Principal, Stantec

Craig has been integral in the ISO 55001 certification for two companies, through the implementation of Asset Management System (AMS) improvements to meet ISO 55001 asset management conformance. For both of these companies improvements to their Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Decision-Making were integral to being awarded ISO 55001 certification.

The culmination of these improvements embeds ISO 31000 risk management practices within the ISO 55001 asset management framework.  This improvement assists with securing a positive Return on Investment (ROI) for our clients’ O&M Decision-Making strategies and processes, and also in communicating with board-members for funding – by using data-driven graphics that are relatable and that decision-makers can get behind.

Born in New Zealand, Craig’s experience through his career in the USA, Canada, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Australia and New Zealand include development of asset management business-processes for long-term asset management planning, including O&M; level of service alignment; risk management; asset management analytics, and; structured decision-making through multi-objective decision analysis and project prioritization.

The qualifications Craig holds are a Bachelor of Engineering, the Institute of Asset Management Diploma in Asset Management and the Certified Reliability Leader qualification from the Association of Asset Management Professionals.

Delivering presentations about ISO 55001, AM System improvements and the IAM Asset Management training course, Craig’s communication style has been described as task-orientated, even-keeled and conscientious.
