Purpose and Scope

 

This course is for those wishing to understand how to interpret and apply a management system conforming to ISO 55001 in their business.

Summary content:

  • A brief introduction to ISO 55001 and management systems.
  • Introduces the concept of the ‘corporate journey’.
  • Using ‘asset management system’ as a framework for applying good practice.
  • Practical guidance on how to develop practical solutions for applying asset management in your business.

Candidates will be provided with a copy of The IAM System Application Guide which was developed by a cross organisational team of experienced practitioners from multiple organisations and provides detailed support and further reading (more than 100 pages).

This course will be delivered by The Woodhouse Academy on behalf of the Institute of Asset Management. 

Gabriel Kirwan

Gabriel’s practical approach developed over 28 years working in the electricity industry combines with a strong background in developing asset management solutions.  He has worked in Europe, China, North America and Latin America on a range of asset management related activities such as gap analysis, road mapping, policy development, strategy development, root cause analysis and implementation of asset management systems. 

A member of the ISO 55000 committee and his long involvement with the Institute of Asset Management have helped him to develop a broad, multi industry knowledge.
