Topic/ Summary

This event will offer early career professionals, students, and NxtGen members a comprehensive overview of the asset management industry, Institute of Asset Management & highlight various opportunities within the sector. Attendees will benefit from the career journey insights of diverse NxtGen speakers with a wide range of experiences in the field, providing a well-rounded perspective on early career paths in asset management through the viewpoint of young professionals. There will also be an opportunity to engage in one-to-one conversations with Asset Management professionals during a breakout session following the event.

Dr Nour Aljafari - AtkinsRéalis

Nour is a senior asset management consultant holding a PhD in civil engineering with a focus on data-driven  flood risk assessment framework for railway infrastructure. Her main interest lies in tailoring digitally driven multidisciplinary solutions to optimise asset investment, build climate resilience and embed risk-aversive decision-making within transportation infrastructure asset management practice with consideration of end user’s needs and data availability.

Dr. Lilian Iheukwumere-Esotu (CEng)– National Gas

Lilian currently, works as an Asset Management Strategy Implementation Lead at National Gas, UK, where she has the responsibilities for leading the implementation of asset management strategies for varying asset classes (pipelines, compressors, sites and cyber-physical systems).

She has previously worked as a senior Asset Management consultant Engineer at Arcadis UK, within the water Tech. Advisory services, where she was focused on delivering Asset management plans/projects using digital solutions. She also worked as an Asset Management consultant with Binnies UK, a part of the global RSK Group an Engineering Management consultancy company within the UK water sector.

Ashley West - Arup

Ashley is a Graduate Management Consultant in the Assets and Operations team at Arup. With a background in Human Geography, she brings a unique perspective to asset management. Her interests include value-driven investment planning, sustainable development, and risk & resilience. Ashley is passionate about expanding her expertise in asset management and is dedicated to guiding early career professionals through the diverse opportunities within the field.

Stephen Morgan - Amey

Stephen is a Principal Asset Management Consultant at Amey. He has worked within Asset Management for over seven years specialising within Highways and Renewable Energy. Stephen helps organisations make informed, strategic decisions about getting value from their assets. He has completed both the IAM’s Certificate and Diploma exams and is passionate about inspiring and engaging with those new to Asset Management. Stephen is the current UK NxtGen Co-Chair, a IAM Exam Board Member representing young professionals and a member of the IAM’s Midlands regional committee. He is passionate about the industry and growing its Young Professionals presence.
