Member of the Institute of Asset Management (MIAM)
To become a Member of the Institute of Asset Management (MIAM), you must be established in your asset management career and meet one of the following criteria:
- Have an IAM Certificate and 24 months’ work experience as a Practitioner or higher in three of the seven key roles defined in the IAM Competences Framework
- Have an IAM Diploma and 12 months' work experience as a Practitioner or higher in three of the seven key roles defined in the IAM Competences Framework
- Have a postgraduate degree in asset management recognized by the IAM and 12 months' work experience as a Practitioner or higher in three of the seven key roles defined in the IAM Competences Framework
- Have a first degree in a relevant subject and 36 months' work experience as a Practitioner in at least three of the seven key roles defined in the IAM Competences Framework
- Be a Chartered member of another relevant professional body and have 12 months' experience as a Leading Practitioner or 36 months' work experience as a Practitioner in three of the seven key roles defined in the IAM Competences Framework
- Seven years' work experience as a Practitioner or higher in three of the seven key roles and currently a Leading Practitioner in two of the seven key roles defined in the IAM Competences Framework

To apply to become a Member (MIAM) of the IAM, please join as an associate member, then send a completed membership application form to membership@theiam.org.
Your application will then be reviewed by the Membership Committee who will confirm the outcome of your application within four weeks.
